SIP David mini series

Hi people,
Last night I was talking with a coworker about SIP. And he was getting kinda upset that David's past hasn't seen print yet. Ya know all the gang related stuff he was in. So I told him hey Terry's a busy man, we both know this. And I suggested that Terry could write a one shot or mini series about Davd's past and have Rick Mays do the art for it. If you haven't seen Rick's work check out Kabuki : Scarab. He has a great manga influenced style and he's action scenes are to notch stuff. I know it's just a pipe-dream but I think it would be awesome.

Wow! That's an amazing idea - someone should suggest it to Terry directly.

With all due respect, I couldn't see anyone drawing these characters but Terry. Part of what makes SIP so great is how interconnected the writing and art seem to be. Terry knows every subtle gesture a character needs to make in each situation. It amazes me how he nails the right expression everytime. I don't see another artist doing that.

I agree, while I would love to know the story behind David I think Terry has very strong reasons for not showing it to us yet(not that he just hasn't gotten around to it). I think Davids past is going to be the reason he is not in the future.
And nobody else should draw it but Terry, I've seen covers where other people drew the characters and it wasn't even close. For one thing Terry is one of very few who use brushes not pens, SIP just isn't SIP when it's done in that hopped-up DC/Marvel style.

Someone suggested this to The Cartoonist in February 1999: "Are we ever going to learn about David's family history?" The reply:
"That will be in the special one-shot tpb I plan to release this summer." But it seems moot now.

It's highly possible that David's past, much like Tambi & Bambi's, gives away far too many plot elements and therefor must remain a mystery, for now...

Too much of David's story (WHICH I'd love to see) would judt lend fuel to my fire that David is the third cog within the wheel of this story and not just another supporting character...
